To the family of Emily Beleber,
I feel your loss as I consider Emily part of my family.I couldn't believe she's gone. We just spoke 2 weeks earlier.
As I reflect on the past, I get mix feelings. I'm extremely sad that she's not with us anymore but I'm happy and grateful  for the time we shared. We've been together since college days at UST, She's a warm, gentle person, easy to get along with. Her adventurous spirit led us to America in Nov. 4, 1968 to start a new life.
It was a journey of  a lifetime!!
We met and made friends, got married, worked together at MD Pharmaceutical for quite a while, raised our families, celebrated family events, traveled . . . became grandmothers. We also shared being widows on the last 11 years of her life.
I'll miss Emily terribly but I rejoice in the hope that one day we'll see each other again.  Rest in Peace, my dear friend. I love you.

To: Emily’s beloved family, 
My prayers and deepest sympathy to all of you.  I was a college classmate of Emily at the University of  Santo Tomas, College of  Science leading up to our graduation, and finally passing the government board of exams to be licensed chemists. The photo taken after our oath taking as licensed chemists,  taken  April  1967 which was posted by Cora Bernardo, was the last picture I  had with Emily.  I was the girl in a green dress standing  beside her.  I haven’t had the chance to reconnect with Emily ever since I came to the U. S. in 1969. 
I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 38 years in Indiana and Ohio, and the last 2 years until I retired in 2009, in Corona, CA.  My fondest memories of Emily was during our college days,  as a very sweet , kind and reserved but generous individual.  However, I know that even though I had not been able to spend time with her in recent past, I am comforted knowing that she is now in Heaven with our Lord and her beloved husband.
Eternal rest grant unto Emily, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.  May her soul, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace, Amen. 
Thank you Lord for Emily’s  life shared with All of us🙏🙏🙏

     To Emily's family and loved ones,  my deepest condolences on her sudden death.  Emily and I were college classmates, whose bond started with our common dialect, Ilonggo.
      At opposite coasts of the U.S. ,  we lost touch until a couple of years ago when we reconnected at a luncheon in L.A.,  through the efforts of Cora Bernardo, another classmate.  We sat next to each other,  chatting like we just saw each other yesterday.  For that moment and the reconnection that followed,  I am eternally grateful.  Rest in peace,  my gentle, soft spoken friend!

In the brief encounter with Emily, once during the fall foliage cruise ( picture with Emily reposted from Helen’s) and in a party at Glendale CA, I could sense how warm she was though in a reserved manner. Out of the blue we discovered we had a mutual friend. She had the same “ malambing” intonation  that brought back happy memories of that region in the Philippines. As Cora said, she had a smile which would light up a room. We are truly sorry for your loss, however, it is heaven’s gain. We now have an advocate up there. Thanks for sharing her life with us.

To the family of Emily Salazar Beleber, my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences.  Your loss is shared by many whose lives she touched.
Emily was my college classmate at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.  We were seated in alphabetical order so since her last name begins with “S” and mine “T”, we were seated in close proximity.  She always had a beautiful smile and spoke softly in  an intonation with a gentle lilt.  After graduation and passing the board exams, I immigrated to the Bay Area and did not see Emily again until after 30 years.  Our batchmates reconnected  with those in Southern California, other states as well as in the Phil.  She remained the sweet, kind, generous and cheerful soul I knew during  our young, wondrous years and enjoyed her company again during reunions/ parties in various locations.  She attended the luncheon hosted by my high school classmates on July 12,  2018 for my birthday in June in the Los Angeles area.  I was so surprised to see her at mass in Newark while she was visiting her brother in Fremont.  She met my brother, Francisco,  a Catholic religious missionary from Framingham,  MA who founded a shelter for street children in Manila more than 30 yrs. ago.  My last communication with Emily was a few months ago when she inquired about donating to Pangarap Shelter,  my brother’s mission.
I will miss her but we take comfort in knowing God called her home to be with her husband Mars and other beloved ones in Paradise.  
The attached picture was taken after our oath taking as licensed chemists having passed the board exams.  Emily and I wore peach colored dresses.
