Capt. Soren "Whitey" Anton passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday May 31, 2015 in Sun Valley, California. Whitey is now flying high in the wild blue yonder with the 2 ladies he loved the most, his P-38 aircraft and his beloved Mary Anton. He was loved by all who met him, you could say he never met a stranger. Whitey was a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, piloting P-38 aircraft, fighting Rommel and his German and Italian Forces in the North African campaign. Captain Anton received the Purple Heart and Air Medal after being shot in the air over Italy losing his right elbow in the process. His love of planes never left him even to the very last. He loved to tell some exciting stories to anyone who was willing to listen about all of the events he had during WWII. A part of History we should all not forget! Whitey leaves behind 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please consider in Memory of Captain Soren E. Anton, donations to the following organization at https://www.afas.org/memorials .
