Emmanuel “Manny” L. Subida was 72 years of age of West Chicago, IL. Manny passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was a beloved husband to Prescila (Caruana) for 52 years. A loving father and mentor to his three sons Jesus Noel (Angelica) Subida, Ronnie Subida and Robert (Maritza) Subida. A cherished grandfather of Nicole, Joseph, Jesus, Jonathan, Aliah, Jayla, Prescila, and Jasmine. He was a brother to Rudy, Arnold, Robert, Mila, Joselyn, Lourdes and Carmella. A dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, loved by many cousins and remembered by many friends.
Manny was a prominent motorcycle mechanic in the streets of Chicago and beyond. His devotedness for motorcycles brought him to Chicago in the early 80's. Landing him a cleaning job at a nearby motorcycle shop. From there he became a mechanic working in the service department. This led him being noticed for his knowledge, hard work and dedication in the motorcycle field. His wisdom and mastery was extraordinary, by far one of the best to have ever turned a wrench. He made numerous friends along the way and some have turned into family. He mentored many especially his brothers, sisters and children.
Manny formed a motorcycle club (Fil-American Riders) in the early 90's. This club immediately grew from the family oriented atmosphere he created within the club. There were many camping trips and long rides to several different states. Manny created a lot of memories for everyone to remember.
Aside from his passion in the motorcycle field he also loved bowling, which led him to forming a family oriented bowling league (14Brotherhood) in the late 90's to early 2000's. Karaoke, hunting and playing Mahjong were some of his hobbies. His recreational activities would draw people closer to him because he would make it fun for everyone to enjoy. He was a very friendly person with a huge warm heart.
Manny's smile would automatically light up any room he entered. His presence was always known from the big smile he possesses. There was nothing in the world that could stop him. he was always determined to strive for better. He profoundly loved his brothers and sisters, his cousins, his wife, his children, his nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Manny had open arms for everyone. He loved everyone equally and was an astonishing family man.
Manny will forever be remembered and missed.
