

Donald Hugh Dillon passed away on Sunday, May 3rd from complications of Alzheimer's. Don was born on September 15th, 1930 to Clair and Cora Dillon of Golden, Colorado. Don was the youngest of 6 children born to Clair and Cora.
Don' s 5 older sisters were Eileen, Leora, Mirth, Myrna and Roberta -who are all also deceased. After high school Don spent 4 years in the air force where he was primarily stationed in Panama City, FL and then later in Mt. Mckinley, Alaska where he was an ice-skating and skiing instructor. Don married Carol Bowden of Denver in 1956 and together they had 2 children - Jade (57) of Conifer, Colorado and Greg (55) -who currently resides in Marietta, GA. Don and Carol divorced in 1968 and Don married Trudie Simpson of Golden, Colorado in 2000. Don is survived by Trudie and her daughter Dawn Goring , her husband Art and their son Haydyn (18) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Don is also survived by daughter Jade and her daughters Gabrielle Chisolm (29) (and Husband Colin) of Conifer, Colorado and Skylar Heselius (23) of Frisco, Colorado, as well as son Greg (wife Kathryn) and their daughters - Jessica Franklin (25) (and Husband Samuel) of Smyrna, GA; Danielle (22) of Marietta, GA and Brittany (20) of Savannah, GA. Don always loved the outdoors. Growing up in Golden he spent his boyhood hunting and playing on the mountainsides around Golden and Clear Creek Canyon, and later in life in Frisco, Colorado where he built a cabin in the 1970's. Having been stationed in Alaska in the air force, Don always longed to return to the pristine wilderness there and did so on a number of occasions. Don worked for the Adolf Coors Brewing Company for over 40 years, retiring and then working for a Coors distributor in Summit county, and finally for the CDC in Denver up until July of 2013 (over 60 years all together). Don will be remembered as a man who was extremely loyal to his employer, intensely patriotic and a people-person who could talk with anyone and who loved to kid around with anyone who would engage in his sense of humor.
