Pat is survived by her husband Frank and children Scott VanDeHey and Wendy Mapp. Pat was born and raised in Boulder Co. She attended the University of Northern Colorado and received a degree in Special Education and Learning Disabilities. The great loves of Pat’s life were family and teaching. She taught for Jefferson County Schools at the middle school level for 33 years. Her great strength was her ability to make deep connections with her students. Long after her students left middle school, they kept in contact with Pat. She loved to travel. With her family she visited Australia, Hawaii, Mexico and islands in the Caribbean. After retiring, Pat and her friends would often visit the casinos. She loved animals and owned dogs, cats and a horse name Easter. Pat also loved sappy music including “Patches”, “Honey’ and “The Last Kiss”. Her favorite singers were Leslie Gore and Gene Pitney.
