Alexander “Alex” Prach Cruz, age 20, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015. He was born on May 30, 1995 in Lockport, NY and lived in Luling, LA and Corpus Christi, TX before finally residing in Geismar, LA. He graduated from Dutchtown High School in 2013, where he was a member of NJROTC and a percussionist in the band. His passion was competitive swimming at Dutchtown and in the summer at Pelican Point. He was a junior in the Biological Engineering Department at LSU. Alex is survived by his parents, Nomeriano and Linda Prach Cruz; brother, Santiago Thomas Cruz; grandparents, Martha Cruz, Thomas and Naomi Prach; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Angel Cruz. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home from 11:00 am until a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.
