

Anthony “Lynn” Austin Sr. passed away surrounded by family on January 29, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Arleen LeBlanc Austin. Together they had four children; Jenine Ritter (Bill), Anthony “Tony” Austin Jr. (Kelly), Claire Giroir (Ben Bourgeois) and Peter Austin (Melissa). He was the proud grandfather of Rhesa Babin (Jared), Destin Melancon (Jessica), Rhagen Young (Jorda), Carly Melancon (Evan Hendrix), Rhalie Simmons (Paul), Dean Ritter, Rhandi Wise (John), Jane Evans (Jeff), Alicia Austin (Bradley), Emily Mungall (Ian), Rebecca Bolinger (William), Sarah Carlson (Kris), Elizabeth Austin (Noah Dollar) and Luke Giroir; great-grandfather of Gage, Harper, Hollis, Jensen, Jorda IV, Julien, Millie, Burke, Juliet, Jane, Jillian, Aubrey, Austin, Amelia, Aidden, Stella, Brennan, Adelaide, Avery, Austin, Abigail, Teddy, Louise, Fiona, Dane and two more on the way. He is also survived by his brother Clyde Austin Sr. (Gwen Schexnayder), his sisters Wynn Nell Diez (Mark, Sr.), Debbie Decoteau (Byron, Sr.), sisters-in-law Lynn Marie LeBlanc, Marsha Gautreau (Steve), Carmel Avrill (Charles) and brother-in-law Eric LeBlanc, Sr. (Carmen).
He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Julie Daigle Austin, his in-laws Layton and Bernice Gautreau LeBlanc, his sister-in-law Lorene Austin and brothers-in-las Winston LeBlanc, Sr. and Randall LeBlanc. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
Lynn owned Austin Heating & Air for 25 years before he retired. He was a hardworking man who never met a project he wouldn’t tackle. He did everything he could to make sure he provided the best life for his family. Lynn loved being surrounded by his large and loving family any chance he got. He was a devout catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and the unofficial door greeter. Lynn was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member at the health club. He always put others needs before his own, he had a heart of gold.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 15208 Highway 73, Prairieville, Louisiana 70769, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. The burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Mausoleum in Prairieville, LA. In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. John the Evangelist in honor of Lynn. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Destin Melancon, Bubba LeBlanc, Damon Gautreau, Jake Avrill, Byron Decoteau Jr, Clyde Austin Jr, Mark Diez Jr. and honorary pallbearer Luke Giroir.
