

Berlin Paul “Plug” “Pops” Gautreau, 89, a native and resident of Gonzales, LA., died on Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. After the Navy he went to work for Ormet Corporation in 1957 until he retired after 39 years of service. He had a passion for mowing grass, sanding, painting, and staining, detailing his vehicles, but most importantly he loved his family above all else. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Bobbie Dell Delaune Gautreau; parents, Oreal and Lelia Babin Gautreau; In-laws, Bert Garron and Edna Cedotal Delaune; siblings, Gerald, Herald, Geneva, Leo, Lorita, and Elray; and his companion of many years, Judy Champagne. He is survived by son, Garron Paul Gautreau and his wife, Jenny Gomez; daughter, Shara Dell and her husband, Jimmy Ducote; and his grandchildren, Cody Roy (Fiancé, Kelsey Clark), Seth Paul, Hannah Dell and Rachel Ann. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy., Gonzales, LA., on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 5pm-8pm. Visitation will resume at Ourso Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 9am until the service time at 11am. Burial will follow at Prairieville Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to the entire staff at St. Joseph Hospice, Father Martin Lawrence, and Pop's daughter in law, Jenny for the many years of companionship she gave to Pops and later becoming his full time caregiver. Pall bearers honored to serve will be, Cody, Seth, Garron, Brandon Ramoin, Barry “Coco” Wilson, Stephen Bateman, Jason Letulle, and Dustin Haydel.
