
Betty Burton was born March 3, 1925, in Brittany, and died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge. Survived by Windom J. Burton, her beloved husband whom she married 67 years ago in Seattle, where he was stationed on the USS Enterprise; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Will Courtney, Prairieville, and Cynthia and Stan Hughes, Baton Rouge; son and daughter-in-law, Dirk and Nancy Sue Burton, Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Rodney Durbin, of Waynesville, N.C., Shane and spouse Yvette Hughes, of Austin, Texas, Jeremy and spouse Alyson Hughes, of O'Fallon, Ill., Ashley Hughes, Clay Burton, and Jill and spouse Quintin Brakebill, all of Baton Rouge; and great-grandchildren, Seth, Kyle, and Sarah Hughes, all of Austin, Josie Hughes, Wright, Claire, and Sydney Brakebill, all of Baton Rouge. Predeceased by her parents, Henry Audley Richardson and Catherine Louise Alexis Richardson; and siblings, Isobel "Tiny" Jurecka, Juanita Savoy Templet, Clyde Richardson, Dorothy "Dot" Thomassie, Henry Ray Richardson. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
