With profound sadness we announce the passing of Beverly, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all lives she touched, on May 5, 2022 at her home in Gonzales with family and friends by her side in her 78th year.
Beverly Raffray Solar, beloved wife of the late Robert (Bobby) Solar of 53 years, and the daughter of the late Fabian and Eve Raffray both from White Castle La., was herself born in White Castle on March 21st, 1944. She was a resident of Gonzales for the past 60+ years.
Beverly was a dedicated mother first and foremost that treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them, and we hereby thank you mother from the bottom of our hearts for setting such an incredible example of dignified selfless love and devotion for us all that never once wavered right up to the advanced stages of the illness that took you from us.
Beverly is survived by four sons and their wives, Robert (Robbie) Solar Jr., Gregory Solar and his wife Karen, Jeffrey Solar and his wife Ruth, and Derek Solar and wife Amy, and a much cherished daughter: Regina Weydert, including her former son in law Paul Weydert, all of which reside in the Gonzales/Prairieville area.
She is also survived by a sister and a brother: Fay Delaune and Carol Raffray, nine grandchildren: Jarrod and wife Lexi Solar, Morgan and husband Josh Nesser, Sara and husband Cogan Waterman, Laci Solar, Jordyn Weydert, Cydni Weydert, Ryan Solar, Brandt Solar, Aleigh Solar, and one great grandchild: Jameson Solar, and many other nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her aforementioned parents and devoted husband Bobby Solar from Donaldsonville La., two brothers: Jerry and Gary Paul Raffray, six sisters: Pearl Raffray, Shirley Crochet, Barbara Bladsacker, Audrey Hebert, twins Marjorie and Audrey Raffray, and two nephews: Ferd Jr. Crochet and Craig Hebert.
Memorial Service will be conducted Tuesday May 10, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, with a graveside service following after at Hope Haven Cemetery also in Gonzales.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Solar, Brandt Solar, Josh Nesser, Ronald Guidry, Jay Mayo, Brett Waguespack and (Honorary) Jarrod Solar.
