Brenda Waguespack Harelson

Brenda was born on July 15, 1942, in Donaldsonville, LA, to parents, Clarence and Patricia Waguespack. She was a high school graduate whose life was dictated by a strong faith in God. She retired from St. Theresa School where she was the secretary. She often enjoyed playing a round of Bingo, gardening, and even cutting her grass. But above all else, Brenda loved her family. She will be missed by many, none more so than her children.

Brenda is survived by her sons: Wade (Catherine), Jody (Raven), Glen, and Gary (Missy); siblings: Cathy Lanoux (Johnny), Daryl Waguespack (Mary), Joel Waguespack (Sherry), and Janel Porta (Lionel Jr.); sister-in-law, Delores Wheat: grandchildren: Jennifer Kidwell (Jeremiah), Jonathan Harelson, Jacob Harelson (Jessica), Devon Acaldo (Jennifer), Derrick Acaldo (Kristina), Chase Harelson (Kristen) and Brandi Hill; and great grandchildren: Emmalynn, London, Isabella, Alejandra, Issac, Ava, Kamryn, Cade, Connar, and Kolby. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Harelson; her parents Clarence and Patricia Waguespack; brother-in-law, Bobby Wheat; and grandson, Kyle Harelson.

A visitation will be held at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church at 1022 N Burnside in Gonzales, LA, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 8:30 AM, with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 AM. This will be proceeded by a committal service at Resthaven on 11817 Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge, LA.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask donations be made out to the Down Syndrome Awareness Group of Baton Rouge (dsagbr.org).
