Carlene "Corky" Matherne

Carlene “Corky” Matherne, age 61, a resident of French Settlement, LA, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 14, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Steven “Kurt” Matherne; Children, Crystal Williams and Fiancé Ray Kees, Paul Williams Jr., and Christopher Williams; Grandchildren, Makinley Williams and Chloe Hutchinson; Sisters, Robbie Lynn Watts and husband David, April Miller and Anna Oglee and husband Richard; Mother-in-law, Mary Matherne and former mother-in-law who was more like a mother to her, Rosie Williams; Sisters-in-law, Theresa Trabeaux and Angela Williams; Brother-in-law, Mark Williams and wife Tonya, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is proceeded in death by her father and step mother, Robert and Marjean Ussery; mother, Carmelita Beaston Ussery; brother, Bobby Ussery; fathers-in-law, Odom C. Matherne and Edgar Williams; brother-in-law, Mike Trabeaux; nephew, Shawn Paul Edwards; and niece, Cassie Rose Edwards. Special thanks to Carol Granier and Theresa Trabeaux for the love and care given to Corky during her illness. The Family also wants to thank Compassus Hospice. Visitation will be on Friday, April 22nd from 5 pm until 8 pm and will resume on Saturday, April 23rd at 9 am with funeral at 12 pm at Colyell Baptist Church Livingston, LA. Corky will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. Pall bearers will be, Brad Andrews, Ray Guitreau, Brent Milton, Trey Milton, Tregg Cunningham, Dennis Fletcher, Honorary Pallbearers will be, Robert Matherne and David Watts.
