Chad Anthony Brown

A loving and devoted husband, son and friend, he passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at age 24. He was a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish, a volunteer firefighter with the Geismar Fire Department, and worked at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center where he had just made the Tactical Team. He loved fishing, his Jeep and motorcycles, and was a gun enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of many years, Samantha Nagin Brown; mother, Renee Brown Samuel and step-fathers, William Samuel and Dale Robert; grandparents, James "Cotton" and Lovey Brown; brother, Mark Brown; stepbrother, Johnathan Samuel; stepsisters, Stephanie Samuel and Ashley Samuel; half brother, Brent Duplessis; half sisters, Holly Gaines, Lindsey Smith, Leslie Boudreaux; uncle, Rudy Brown and wife, Cathy; aunts, Rhonda Hood and husband, Embry, Ranette Braud; cousins, Kerry Hood, Cameron Hood, Lacey Brown, Kyle Brown, Conner Braud, Jared Fonte, Cody Fonte, Rhett Fonte; special niece, Adriana Fonte; brother-in-law, Trent Nagin; father and mother-in-law, Don and Elizabeth Nagin; numerous other loving family members and friends; and his pet and special friend, Rufus. Preceded in death by his uncle, Randy Braud; and great-grandparents, Rudolph and Vivian Brown, and Henry and Mulcy Arceneaux. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Wednesday, August 31, from 8:00 a.m. until services at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Ken Spivey. Interment in Oak Lane Memorial Park, Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Mark Brown, Cody Fonte, Brent Duplessis, Graham McKenzie, Michael Pellerin, Melvin Istre, Kyle Brown and two EHCC Officers.
