Christine Smith Sheets

Chris will be remembered for her love of family, friends and co-workers. She loved singing with her brothers, Jewel and Dennis, and dancing to country music. Her work ethic was beyond measure with retiring at the age of 81 from the Department of Corrections. Mrs. Chris enjoyed going to Church, being with family and friends, shopping and bingo. She was a loving mother and devoted friend. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. Special thanks to the caring staff of Magnolia Assisted Living.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and Ira Smith; husband, Alvin Joseph Sheets; brothers, Jewel Smith and Dennis Smith, Sr.; grandson, Wesley Joseph Sheets and son in law, Joseph Broussard.

She is survived by her children, Rodney J. Sheets (Trudi), Reggie Sheets, Connie Broussard, Sherri Baker (Sam) and Lana Girouard (Ted); grandchildren, Erin and Reid Sheets, Traci Jacob (Elvis), Cindy Carrol (Taylor), Bryce Broussard (Kyrstin), Blaire Amedee (Jared) and 13 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Gonzales, LA on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 9 am until a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am. Pallbearers will be Bryce Broussard, Reid Sheets, Elvis and Seth Jacob, Blake Sheets, Todd and Blaine Sheets. Burial will follow in Hope Haven Cemetery.
