Dean Joseph Delaune passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. He was 56. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “J.R.” and Daisy Delaune, and brother, Kerry Delaune. Dean was the proud owner of Delaune’s Paint and Body Shop. He spent his spare time in Belle River at his beloved fishing camp. He was a loving family man and especially enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. To know Dean was to love him. He was truly one of a kind with a larger than life personality. He lived hard, played harder, and loved the hardest. He was always the first to extend a helping hand to anyone in need and went out of his way to make other people smile. Dean was unforgettable and will be dearly missed by so many. Family and friends of Dean are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 9:30am to 11:30am at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Pallbearers will be Wade Carpenter, Randy Delaneuville, Chad Delaneuville, Rodd Bercegeay, Chad Delaune, Clint Bercegeay, Dusty Delaune, BJ Delaune and Kolton Delaune.
Special thanks to his doctors, nurses, and medical staff at Baton Rouge General. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
