

Elizabeth (Betty) DeLaune Mire, a lifelong resident of Dutchtown, LA., went to her eternal resting place on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the age of 74. Our hearts are heavy and deeply saddened and she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Betty was born the eldest of seven daughters to William Alton and Virgie Mae DeLaune on September 17, 1947. She was married to the love of her life, Myles L. Mire, on December 9, 1968 and will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loyal friend. She was a talented cook, baker, and seamstress. Betty was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Myles L. Mire; daughter, Allison Faye Mire; and, 3 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Marlee Young Day (husband Dustin) Landen Young and Joseph Keller IV; 2 great-grandchildren; Bowie Elizabeth Day and Navie Joanne Day. Also survived by her loving sisters and brothers in law, Bonnie and Warren Dencausse, Barbara and Purvis Lessard, Brenda and Russ Bourgeois, Cynthia and Dale Arceneaux. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Blanche Leveron, Beverly LaLonde; and great-granddaughter, Everlee Louise Day. Visitation on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Fr. Jerry Martin. Pallbearers will be Damon Arceneaux, Matthew Bourgeois, Dustin Day, Printice Dencausse, Joseph Keller IV, Corey LaLonde, Wayne LaLonde Jr., Jacob Leveron and Landen Young.
