

A retired postmaster with 23 years of service and resident of St. Amant, he passed away at his home on, Tuesday, March 2, 2010. He was 83 and a native of Whitehall. He was also retired from the U.S Army after serving 22 years with an Army Commendation Medal with the Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a veteran of WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Thursday, March 4 from 5 pm to 9 pm and will resume at Holy Rosary Church, St. Amant on Friday from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Entombment to follow in the church mausoleum. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn Brown LeBourgeois; 5 daughters, Brenda Scallan (Bruce), Charlotte Delle (Robert), Karen Boquet (Glenn), Debra Hill (Wendell “Buck”), and Carol Bercegeay (Dirk); a son, Douglas LeBourgeois; 4 sisters, Telvina Dupuy, Noemie Millet, Iris Sprague (Harry), and Sue Ann LeBourgeois Matherne; 3 brothers, Norman LeBourgeois (Janet), Homer LeBourgeois (Linda) and Lacy LeBourgeois Michael; 9 grandchildren, Melissa, Dana, Jacqueline, Paul, Stacie, Christy, Amy, Ryan, and Devon; and a great granddaughter, Morgan; sisters in law, Onedia LeBourgeois and Betty LeBourgeois; brother in law, Pat Dixon. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian LeBourgeois; grandson, Willie Hill; parents, Lawrence and Eugenia Vicknair LeBourgeois; sisters, Ella Mae Anderson, infant Ellen LeBourgeois, Marie “Bessie” Dixon and brothers, Alton LeBourgeois, Warren LeBourgeois, and Nelson LeBourgeois. Pallbearers will be Ryan Bercegeay, Devon Bercegeay, Evert Parent, James Singletary, Milton Harlow, Kevin DiCrispino, and Dirk Bercegeay.
