Ernest Joseph Dupre Jr.

Ernest J. Dupre, Jr. , a native of Montegut, LA and resident of Gonzales, LA, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10:30AM at the age of 87. He was a US Navy veteran who was stationed in Guam and was a retired heavy equipment supervisor and a baliff for the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mable Price Dupre; sons, James, Michael, Chris and Barry Dupre; grandchildren, Johnny Dupre, Vicky Dupre Marks, Jake Dupre, Missy Dupre James, Zachary Dupre, Courtney Dupre, Stephen Dupre, Blake Dupre and Micha Blanchard Ballow; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Dupre, Alton Dupre, Price Dupre, Bree Courville, Wesley Marks, Emma Marks, Haley Dupre Koenig, Kelsey Dupre, Jake Dupre, and Madison James; great-great grandchildren, Hope and Rain. Ernest is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Dupre, Sr.; mother, Josephine LeBoeuf Dupre; sisters, Necia, Adele, Lyie, Genevieve and Elodie Dupre; brothers, Duffy and Lynus Dupre and daughter Patsy Dupre. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church from 9:00AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery - Hwy 30, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Johnny, Jake, Zachary, Stephen, Blake and Jake Dupre. Honorary pallbearers will be Alton and Price Dupre.
