Frances Gaskins Epps

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the age of 90. She was a native of Texas and resident of Prairieville. She was married to her loving husband, Howard Mitchell Epps, in 1946 after he returned from his duty in the Navy following WWII. They were married for 67 wonderful years. She taught for 16 years as a special-needs kindergarten teacher at Parkway Presbyterian Church in Metairie. Frances was a woman of great faith who loved the Lord and trusted in Him in all things. God produced great fruit in her life and she demonstrated the love of Christ in everything she did. Frances and Howard enjoyed traveling with the Crusin’ Cajuns and the Les Amie motorhome clubs. She is survived by her loving husband; sons and daughters-in-law, Barry M. Epps and wife Barbara J. Hall, Lt. Col. Danny E. Epps and wife Carol; grandchildren, David M. Epps and wife Melanie, Scott M. Epps and wife Bridgett, Jeremy M. Epps and wife Nicole, Camile Morgan and husband Chip, Raymond J. Epps, Franklin M. Epps; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brooke, Emily, and John David Epps, Brittany and Stephanie Epps, Abigail and Elizabeth Morgan; brother, Arthur Gaskins; and her loving pet dog, Noel. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ward Gaskins; parents, Winnie Allwine and Arthur Gaskins; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Epps. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Friday, August 16, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday, August 17, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Gonzales from 10:00 a.m. until religious services at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Mark Goins. Entombment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum in Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and friends, Ken Judice and Randy Moore.
