Frances Ida Rhodes Fox, age 74, a native of Baton Rouge, LA, and a longtime resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025. Fran was known for her generous spirit, quick wit, and deep love for her family and friends. She spent much of her career as an administrative assistant in the insurance industry, where her dedication and warmth left a lasting impression. Outside of work, Fran had a zest for life—she loved riding on the back of a Harley with her beloved husband, Steve, visiting the casino, and enjoying good food and cocktails. Every bite and sip was savored, just like every moment spent with loved ones. Fran had a green thumb and took pride in nurturing her plants. Her dogs held a special place in her heart, and she was always the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Steve Fox; her parents, Feltus Louis Rhodes Jr. and Mary Edythe Kinberger Rhodes; and her sister, Kay Rhodes deGeneres. She is survived by her nieces and nephew: Dawn (Mike) deGeneres Bennett, Dana (Kevin) deGeneres Telano, and Buddy (Palmyre) deGeneres; great-nieces and great-nephews: Kayla Telano, Tori Telano, Michael (Traci) Bennett, Joel (Sophy) Bennett, Luke (Phida) Bennett, Jacob (Auburn) Telano, and Ethan Telano; and great-great-nephews: Asher Miles, Finn, Jack, Joey, Shawn, Quinn, Mathias, and Kai Bennett. She is also survived by her cousin-sister, Mary Margaret (Glenn) Dupont Coffey; sister-in-law, Barbara Thompson; brother-in-law, Tommy deGeneres; and numerous extended family and friends, she cherished. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at The Parc Senior Living for their compassionate care and for embracing the family during this difficult time. Special thanks also go to Clarity Hospice, Baton Rouge General Ascension, and especially Dr. Caro for their support. A very special thank you to Fran’s devoted companions and caregivers—Terry LeBlanc, Alima Harry, Melinna Carrero, Brandi Jarreau, and others—who provided unwavering care during the past two years of her declining health. A Celebration of Fran’s Life will be held at a later date. Please visit www.oursofh.com for updated service information. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
