

George W. “Pat” Collison formerly of Harlingen, Texas died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in Baton Rouge, LA. Mr. “Pat”, 83, was born in Anoka, Minn. and came to Louisiana in 1957. He served in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Dupont in LaPlace. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday, August 27 from 6pm to 8 pm. Visiting will resume on Saturday from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 10:30 am with cremation to follow. He is survived by his wife, Mamie Carlson Collison; two daughters, and sons in law, Linda and Jay Comeaux of Houston, Texas and Mary Ellen and “Jim” Heintze of Gonzales, LA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Mary C. West and husband “Ronnie”, and Wesley J. Comeaux, all of Houston. Michael J. Heintze and wife Kate of Prairieville and Daniel S. Heintze and wife Cody of Geismar; and eight great grandchildren, Carson West, Sarah and Rebecca Comeaux, Cameron, Carter and Natalie Heintze and Cade and Max Heintze. He is also survived by two sisters, Marion Edmonston and Betty Gacke of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle E. and father, Marshall F. Collison of Minnesota; brother, Melvin, sisters, Dorothy Peach and Belva Wilmot. The family would like to thank the management, staff, and residents of Sunrise Assisted Living on Jefferson and Siegen Lane, K.P.W. nurses, Hospice of Baton Rouge and Mary Byrd Perkins for their loving kindness toward “Pat” during his illness. A special thank you to our son in law Jim Heintze.
