OBITUARY

Giselle Decuir Dicharry

5 September, 195726 October, 2020

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of an incredible mother, wife, sister, and friend. After 7 years of battling breast cancer strong and hard, she gained her wings and joined her savior in heaven. Those who knew Giselle would comment on her smile, her aura, and the pure joy that expelled from her when she entered a room. She was sassy and timid, feisty and calm, funny and serious. But one thing that no person could deny was that she left an imprint anywhere she went. From coast to coast, there were people who loved, adored, and looked up to her. Some called her an inspiration, the strongest person they’d ever known, and her family would agree, no truer words had ever been spoken. Though she is gone, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those blessed to have been in her presence. Giselle is survived by her husband, Ralph Dicharry; daughters, Holly Dicharry and significant other Alex Naquin, Olivia Cashiola and husband James Cashiola; sons, Blake Aguillard, Zachary Dicharry and brothers, Kenneth “Joe” Decuir, Spencer Decuir and Darryl Decuir. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse & Nola Decuir and niece, Michelle Decuir. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Giselle Dicharry at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11:00am with visitation taking place at Ourso Funeral Home from 8:00am until 10:30am earlier that morning. Burial will take place at Oaklane Memorial Park. Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales (www.oursofh.com) is in charge of arrangements.

While I never met Giselle in person, I worked with her through Strictly Legal. Just from talking and emailing with her, she was a beautiful person. She was always so positive during her battle. GOD has another angel. Prayers for the family.

Giselle was such a sweetheart and will be truly missed. Have known her since the 6th grade at Catholic of Pointe Coupee in New Roads. I think she was the sweetest person that I know. See you in Heaven where there is no such thing as sickness, chemo, tears where Jesus lives. God Rest High, my friend!

My sweet sweet friend Giselle. I'll truly miss you so much.
You always remained the strongest person I knew weathering everything life threw at you with such bravery. You have touched the lives of countless people and you leave a void in our hearts that will be hard to fill.
I know your mama and daddy and grandma and grandpa are waiting to embrace you with all their love and faith. You had such a strong faith and were the most positive person I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I will miss our lunches and hours long gossip sessions and the belly laughs we always had.
I'll miss you sweet girl.

I met Giselle in high school when I started at Catholic of Pt Coupee. Giselle was always bright, sweet and beautiful inside and out! As seniors we planned to room together at LSU until I decided to go to USL where my “Tim” was going. I am so sorry I lost touch with her until our reunions which were few and far between! I will be praying for the family she left behind but I know she has a place with Jesus and is looking out for everyone she loved❤️

I only recently met Giselle within the last couple of months. She was such a beautiful, friendly soul and there's no doubt in my mind that she was loved and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her.
