Hazel Perdue Jones

Hazel departed this earth on May 23, 2016. She was born on August 23, 1920 in Prairieville, LA to Lawrence and Eva Webb Perdue. She graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Lester J. Jones in 1939 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He preceded her in death in 1989. Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel is also preceded in death by her son, Lester J. Jones, Jr. (Jimmy) and brother, Emerson Perdue. She is survived by children C. R. (Bubba) and Bonnie Jones, Gordon M. Jones, and Beryl and Lee H. Price; her brother, Walter W. Perdue; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 10AM – 12PM at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA. Funeral service will begin at 12PM officiated by Rev. Michael Robertson. Christian burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Prairieville, LA. Pallbearers will be Braden Jones, Brian Jones, Kevin Jones, Brent Price, Walter Perdue, Jr. and Timothy Perdue. The Jones family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Sydney P. Prescott, ANP-C and Dr. Burke J. Brooks, Jr. for over 20 years of wonderful care and her special hospice nurse, Erin Landry of St. Joseph Hospice.
