

A homemaker and a native and resident of French Settlement, she passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Old Jefferson Community Care Center in Baton Rouge. She was 92. Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, French Settlement, Monday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Jason Palermo. Interment in French Settlement Community Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Guillory and spouse Perry, of Prairieville, and Linda White and spouse David, of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Pearl B. Murphy, of Prairieville; a sister, Verda Mae Hezeau, of Slidell; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Rudolph Murphy; second husband, Roy Berthelot; parents, Louis Zachary and Celestine Mary Brignac Lobell; a son, Marvin Murphy; five brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers will be Russell White, Nicholas Murphy, Robert Murphy, Kirtley Jackson, Michael Guillory and Terry "Tot" Lobell. Honorary pallbearers are Perry Guillory, David White and Ricky Deville. She was a graduate of French Settlement High School and enjoyed sewing, quilting and working in her yard.
