

A lifelong resident of Dutchtown, she passed away at her home on Sunday, May 8, 2011, at 5:30 a.m. She was 81, a parishioner and member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society and team captain at Cenacle Retreat House. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Adrian Wintz Sr.; daughters, Susanne Wintz Karst and Jean Wintz Kling; sons, Thomas Adrian Wintz Jr. and Randy Charles Wintz; sister, Marie Young Elisar; brother, Eddins Joseph “Grip” Young; grandchildren, Daphne Wintz Haynes, Rachel Wintz Beck, Jeffery Paul Wintz, Brad Charles Wintz, Lindsey Wintz Waldhelm, Jenna Marie Kling, Jorja Ann Kling, Lucas Villa and David Villa; and great-grandchildren, Avery Mykel Haynes, Emery Marie Haynes, Adrian Micah Haynes, Evan Michael Beck, Evelynn Arayna Breez Wintz and Dhiren Joseph Waldhelm. Preceded in death by her parents, Richard V. and Gertie Kling Young; sister, Clara Belle Young Babin; and grandchildren, Thomas Adrian Wintz III and Rya Mae Haynes. Visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, on Tuesday, May 10, from 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Eric Gyan, celebrant. Interment in Prairieville Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Haynes, Josh Beck, Fred Karst, CJ Kling Jr., Jeff Wintz and Carl Babin. Honorary pallbearer is Brad Wintz.
