Janine Smith, age 64, of Prairieville, Louisiana went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Janine was born April 5, 1957 to the late William “Bill” Smith and Geraldine “Jerri” Smith in Huntington, West Virginia. She graduated from South Point High School in 1975 in South Point, Ohio. She earned her Bachelors of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) from South Eastern Louisiana University, Hammond Louisiana. During her career, Janine worked as an executive secretary for Ashland Chemical in Ashland, Kentucky; a real estate agent for Kaiser Realty in Orange Beach, Alabama and a teacher at Gonzales Community College. She is survived by her mother, Geraldine “Jerri” Smith of Prairieville, Louisiana, 2 brothers, William “Gene” Smith (Teresa) of Wurtland, Kentucky and Gary L. Smith (Linda) or Prairieville, Louisiana and a host of nieces and nephews and many cousins. Janine was loved and adored by her family and she will be greatly missed. A graveside service for Janine will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, 37577 Duplessis Rd., Prairieville, La. conducted by Pastor Robert Lawrence of Ascension Baptist Church.
