

A wonderful husband, loving father and son, and born in Baton Rouge, he passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011. He was 29 and a resident of Prairieville. Jeremy graduated from St. Amant High School in 2000, attended River Parishes Community College and graduated from Louisiana Technical College as an air-conditioning technician. He was co-owner of Comfort Climate LLC, and working with Ranger Offshore Inc. as a saturation technician. Jeremy served as a communications specialist in Company C 769 Engineering Battalion of the National Guard. He toured Afghanistan in 2002 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and continued active in the National Guard, participating in flood relief during Hurricane Katrina. He was an entered apprentice member of New River Masonic Lodge 402 and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3693. Survived by his wife, Callie Phelps Brassette; daughters, Paisley and Layla Brassette; parents, Cynthia Redmon and Mark Brassette; sisters, Brandy Latino and Stacy Dufour; niece, McKenzie Latino; nephew, Casey Dufour; grandparents, Edna Mae Brassette, Milby and Elsie Redmon; great-grandmother, Philemone Fontenot; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Janice and Charles Phelps. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Percy Brassette. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday, June 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Stockstill. Interment in Oak Lane Memorial Park Cemetery, Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Brad Fontenot, Dustin Smith, Dereck Palmer, Steven Latino, Casey Dufour, Joseph Ryder and Wesley Brassette. Honorary pallbearers are George Castaneda, Josh Morgan, Brent Smith, David Chapman Jr. and Rick Davis.
