

A lifetime resident of St. Amant, he passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 2, 2017. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and the owner of Joe Delaune Trucking, D&M Rental, and Delaune Cattle Company. He was 84. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marguerite “Daisy” Arcement Delaune; two daughters, JoAnn Bercegeay and husband Rodney, and Judy LaPorte and Brent Moran; three sons, Terry Delaune and Terri Babineaux, Barry Delaune and wife Rhonda, and Dean Delaune and wife Lisa; three sisters, Betty Gautreaux and husband Elson, Theresa Schexnayder, and Rita Bercegeay and husband Valmond; one brother, Manuel Delaune and wife Cheryl; a sister-in-law, June and Grace Delaune; thirteen grandchildren, Rodd Bercegeay, Chad Delaune, Clint Bercegeay, Dusty Delaune, Julee LaPorte, TerriLynn Guidry, BJ Delaune, Kadee Dupuis, Joelle Patty, Kolton Delaune, Ashley Delaune, Brooke Delaune, and Renee Delaune; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Layton, Kazely, Rylan, Collin, Calla, Beck, James, Kerry Rae, Armand, Gabi, Will, Iris, and Kendal. He was preceded in death by his son, Kerry Delaune, parents, Louis and Edna Guedry Delaune, and two brothers, Leon and Jerry Delaune. A public visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Saturday, October 7, from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Rodd Bercegeay, Chad Delaune, Clint Bercegeay, Dusty Delaune, BJ Delaune, and Kolton Delaune. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pinnacle Hospice and especially his angel caretakers Veronica, Shannon, Elizabeth, Nikki, Gretchen, Quincy, Nathan, Chantel, and Darla.
