

Josephine Leboeuf Daigle, a native of Houma, Louisiana and a resident of Gonzales, Louisiana was born on August 14, 1934 and passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the age of 87. She is survived by her three children, Monica Weimer (Chester), Claire Slaughter (Ollie Pruett), and Carroll “Butch” Daigle, Jr. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Mark Sotile, Jr., Melissa Zeller (Brad), Matt Sotile (Sarah), Michelle Troxclair (Lance), Terry Dugas, Jr, (Jessica), Brady Dugas, Jonathan Slaughter, and Georgia Malbrough (Brannon), together with 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Carroll “Butch” Daigle Sr, her daughter, Mary Beth Daigle Sotile and son, Michael Wayne Daigle. Also, her parents, Jean Marie and Mary Pellegrin LeBoeuf, and her brothers, Edward, Wilton, William, Novel, Illey, Paul, and John LeBoeuf, and her sisters, Doris L. Gros, Elva L. Chauvin, and Idola LeBoeuf DiMarco. Josie was a retired business owner of Fairwood Food Center. She was known as “Mrs. Fairwood”, then later as “Moms” to many. She was a devout Catholic and a wonderful caregiver adored by the Gonzales community. She enjoyed gardening, exercising, tennis, playing cards, cooking, being part of Cajun Clickers, but above all else, spending time with her loved ones. The family would like to thank all who took care of her over the years, especially BridgeWay Hospice and her caretakers: Felicia Payton, Sarah Patty, Stephanie Paulino, Judy Braud, and Donna Sheets. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 until funeral time with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial immediately following at St. Theresa of Avila Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Mary Daigle Sotile Scholarship at St. Theresa Catholic School, 212 East New River Street, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737.
