Mrs. Joyce M. Babin

On May 22, 2017 at 9:20 PM, Joyce went home to be with the Lord after a 17 year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 86 years old. Although Joyce was a native of Mason County, Texas, she settled with her husband and family in St. Amant, Louisiana where she was a homemaker. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Louisiana on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. The visitation will resume on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant from 9:00 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, celebrated by Reverend Robert (Bob) Stine, will follow. Joyce will join her husband in entombment in the Holy Rosary Mausoleum. Joyce is survived by 1 sister: Mrs. Mary McCrory of Gonzales, 1 Son: Richard Babin and wife Cindy Chelette Babin of Alamogordo, New Mexico, 2 daughter's: Sandra Hack and husband Don and Linda Babin both of St. Amant. Joyce is also survived by her grandchildren: Kim Hack Owens, Jennifer Babin Peterson, Donny Hack, Jill Gautreau Durbin, Gary Paul Gautreau, Jr., Kristine Babin Streander and Sam Babin, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband: Gilbert (Tom) Babin and 1 daughter: Wanda Gautreau. Joyce was passionate about many things, but nothing could surpass her passion and love for her family. Pallbearers will be Donny Hack, Gary Paul Gautreau, Jr., Sam Babin, Tyler Bercegeay, Trevor Hack, Trey Holland, Tobey Bercegeay, Kade Hack. Honorary Pallbearers will be Aidan Coffey, Brayden Hack, Zachary Streander, Jake Babin, Sam Peterson and Nash Bercegeay.
