Joyce Faye Millet

Joyce LeBlanc Millet passed away peacefully at her home on February 27 surrounded by her family. She was a homemaker and native of Gonzales, Louisiana. Born February, 1930, the daughter of Alton and Lelia LeBlanc, Sr., she enjoyed marriage of over 62 years to her loving husband, Leonce Millet, Jr. Known affectionately to her nine grandchildren and two 2 great-grandchildren as "Nana", she cherished family gatherings. With an unselfish and loving heart, she faithfully cared for her family. Throughout her life she portrayed a sweet demeanor which won the trust and hearts of everyone. Her gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling and laughter, will never be forgotten. She is survived by her husband, Leonce Millet, Jr., five daughters , Ronda Matthews, Aleta Millet, Paula LeBlanc and husband Kim, Jill Millet, Michelle DePierri and husband Bob; one son, Dean Millet and wife Raelyn; nine grandchildren, Chris Matthews and wife Jamie, Jared Burch, Mikelyn Matthews, Alec Adcock, Jessica Martin, Olivia DePierri, Emily Millet, Danielle DePierri, Elise Millet; two great-grandchildren Ty Matthews and Brinleigh Martin; siblings, Lois Brignac and Alton LeBlanc, Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Alton LeBlanc, Sr. and mother, Lelia LeBlanc and sister, Yvonne Braud. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home Friday, March 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Ourso Funeral Home Saturday from 10 until noon . A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Rubin Reynolds at St. Mark Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Matthews, Jared Burch, Laine LeBlanc, Chet Braud, Bob DePierri, and Kim LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be Alec Adcock and Tony Milazzo.The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and heart-felt support from so many people including sitters, Yvette Fore, Linda Sicard, and Shannon Smith as well as Hospice Compassus.
