

Larry Q. “Anvilhead” Pace, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Carpenter House with daughter Vanessa and nurse Terri by his side. He was born in Baton Rouge and resided in Galvez. Larry was an US Army veteran and a retired pipefitter with Local 198. He was an avid sports fans and loved watching LSU Tigers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his garden. One of his favorite places was “Gros Marina” on the bayou. He was an amazing man and loved his family. My daddy will be truly missed. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 9AM until service at 11AM conducted by Brother Charles Marceaux at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales. Cremation will follow at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Gros, Lonnie Roddy, Dylan Stroughter, Theodore Pace, D. D. Phenald, Johnny Taylor, Pan Stroughter, Javier Vides and Benjamin Gros. Larry is survived by daughter and son-in-law Vanessa P. and Thomas “Pan” Stroughter; grandchildren Ally and Kayla Ryder and Stratton Davis; step-grandchildren Alanna Guidry and Dylan Stroughter; step great-grandchild Kylie Guidry; sisters Eunice P. Ware and Sandra Gros; brothers Ted Pace and Danny Pace; faithful companion Roosevelt, whom he loved as a child and his granddog Peanut! Preceded in death by father Theodore Ben Pace, mother Lucy Idell Cook Pace; brother Elmeray Pace; father-in-law Ricardo Vides; mother-in-law Anna D. Vides; wife Ana I. Pace and daughter Johana R. Davis. Special thanks to St. Joseph’s Hospice and Carpenter House. All of my dad’s nurses and staff were amazing. Thank you for making his last days peaceful.
