Leola Marie Troxclair Laiche

Leola Marie Troxclair Laiche, age 87 of Gonzales, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Ascension Oaks Nursing Center, Gonzales, LA peacefully with her children by her side. She was born the 2nd child of Louis Leon and Marie Melanie Schexnaydre Troxclair, Sr., April 3, 1926 on the Angelina Plantation, Mount Airy. She later married Raymond Joseph Laiche, Dec 9, 1951 & together they would have six children. Tragically her husband passed away shortly before the birth of her sixth child. She went on to raise their children, under the watchful eye of her parents. This would not be the only time Leola would face difficulty; she would later have two sons suffer spinal cord injuries with one requiring her constant care way into her 80th year until his death in 2006. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children & their spouses, Donald & Beth S. Laiche, Donna L. & Kent Schexnaydre, Darrell & Liz R. Laiche, David & Melissa T. Laiche, Denise L. & Timmy Fontenot. Her sisters, Ida Ann T. Corley, Arthemise Troxclair, brother, Louis Leon Troxclair Jr. Grandchildren, Jamie Laiche, Kacie Laiche, Kelli L. Jean, Wade and Wendy Schexnaydre, Nicole Laiche, Stefanie L. Dale, Jennifer Laiche, Leeanna Faye Laiche, Brandon & Shelbie Fontenot. Great Grandchildren, Noelle Laiche, Kelsee & Cameron Laiche, Ruby Jean, Morgan Blackwell & Collins Dale. She will be reunited in Heaven with her husband, Raymond Joseph Laiche, son, Dale Paul Laiche, parents, Louis Leon & Marie Melanie Schexnaydre Troxclair, Sr. Sister, Florence T. Trosclair, Brothers, Ralph, Vernon, Earl & Norbert Troxclair. Visitation at St. Theresa of Avila, Gonzales on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 9:00am to 11:00am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Paulina, LA. Pallbearers are Jamie Laiche, Jared Laiche, Wade Schexnaydre, Brandon Fontenot, Adam Jean, Adam Dale. The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Ascension Oaks Nursing Home and Southern Care Hospice. Donations in moms name to the American Heart Association.
