

"To live is Christ, but to die is gain" her motto she lived by every day. She had one mission in life and that was to deliver the plan of salvation and the Word of God to everyone she came in contact with. She met her Lord and Savior and was rewarded the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, October 4, 2013, at the age of 81. She was a resident of Prairieville and a native of Ida, LA. She taught kindergarten at the Bayou Vista Baptist Church where she was a charter member. She was also a very active member of Parkview Baptist in Baton Rouge. She was the devoted wife to her husband of almost 61 years, Billy Jones; loving mother to her son, Larry Jones and his wife, Kathy; loving grandmother and great grandmother to Larayme Jones, Ryan Jones Salzarulo and her husband, Shawn and their three children, Kirsten, Jalin, and Anthony, Nick Maxwell and his daughter, Kadyn, and Matt Maxwell and his daughter, Sophie. She is also survived by her sister in law, Judy Wilson, and her nieces, Sissy Wilson and Vickie Briehn and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxie and Opal Wilson; grandson, Tyler Jones; brother, Billy "Bill" Wilson and a nephew, Kenny Wilson. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 6 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume at the funeral home on Monday from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2 pm, officiated by Rev. Lee Haley. Burial to follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Larayme Jones, Nick Maxwell, Matt Maxwell, Shawn Salzarulo, Clay Briehn and Nathan Briehn.
