Mark was born December 24, 1960 in Paulina, LA and lived there until he attended Devry University in Dallas. He returned to south Louisiana where he raised a family and worked as an electrician with Shell for over 35 years. In his retirement, he pursued many interests including traveling the world, learning to sail, taking trips on his Harley, and making memories with family and friends. He was a “River Angel” of the Mississippi River Paddlers, offering assistance to thru-paddlers in their quest to travel the river from source to sea. Mark was a proud and generous man that will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul John Poche.
Left to cherish memories are his wife of eighteen years, DeAnn Denham Poche; children, Jonathan Mark Poche (Amber) and Melanie Lynn Poche whom he shared with former wife, Lisa Raney; stepdaughters, Lindsay Marie Boley and Kaylee Boley Hebert (Adam); four grandchildren, Liam, Harrison, Claire, and Luke; mother, Joyce Rome Poche; siblings, Bryan P. Poche (Myrna), Jeffrey N. Poche (Sandra), Rodney J. Poche (Lisa), Kenneth J. Poche (Jolette), and Mary E. Myers (Pat); many nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and longtime friends.
Honoring Mark as pallbearers will be his four brothers and two longtime friends, Justin Williams and Steve Mahaffey.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors and nurses at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital for their quality care and kindness.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Saturday, March 25, 2023, starting at 10:00 am. Funeral service will commence at 12:00 pm and burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Gonzales, LA.
