Murphy "Chick" Hayward Edmonston Sr.

GONZALES – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Murphy “Chick” Hayward Edmonston, Sr., age 86, at 11:00 am Monday, March 31, 2014 at Ourso Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

A native of Galvez and a resident of Gonzales, Mr. Edmonston passed away at 9:05 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

Mr. Edmonston was an avid fisherman and rabbit hunter. He was also a member of the New River Masonic Lodge #402 He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Dempsey Edmonston and wife Patricia, Buryl Kuhl and wife Cathy, Murphy Edmonston, Jr. and fiancé Carla Dorris, Joey Randazzo, Johnny Randazzo; daughters, Margaret Randazzo, Mary Adkins; sisters, Wanda Gayle Mire, Agnes Evans, Ida Roddy, fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Randazzo Edmonston; daughter, Robin Randazzo; parents, Roscoe and Estelle Edmonston; brothers, Arthur Edmonston, Joseph Edmonston, Alton Edmonston; sister, Lilly Hacker and daughter-in-law Tammy Taillon Edmonston.

Friends and Family members will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Edmonston’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
