Nellie Mae (Dorman) Bridges

Nellie Mae Dorman Bridges, 87, and a retired retail store clerk, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Lane Regional Medical Center, Zachary. She was a native of Baker and resident of Zachary, Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Monday, Nov. 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. James Alexander and the Rev. David Tidwell. Interment in Roselawn Cemetery, Baton Rouge. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Larry Tidwell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Grover Wiley "Bit" and Martha Bridges, and Paul Leslie and Shelly Bridges; daughter-in-law, Nan Bridges; 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Jennie Dorman; husband, Kelly Bridges; son, Jackie Bridges; and brothers Earl, Ralph and Fred Dorman. Pallbearers will be Jason Bridges, Joseph Bridges, Dale Tidwell, David Tidwell, Dewayne Bridges, Wesley Glover, Kyle Baudoin and Ron Townley. Honorary pallbearer is Larry Tidwell. She was a member of Grace Monte Sano Presbyterian Church since 1934. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Gravois, Lane Regional Medical Center and Zachary Manor.
