Nettie McMorris Patterson

Nettie E. Patterson, age 79 and a life-long resident of Colyell, La. Passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Nettie was a woman whose unwavering loyalty, fierce determination, and indomitable grit defined every aspect of her life. She approached every challenge with the strength of character that inspired all who knew her. A woman who never gave up, no matter the obstacle. Nettie was a constant pillar of support for her family and friends. She taught them all the power of resilience and the importance of standing by those you love. Her loyalty knew no limits, and her determination was matched only by her kindness. No matter how tough life got, she always held her head high, fighting through the hardest of times with grace and courage. Her ability to stay grounded in love and never lose sight of what mattered most was a testament to the incredible strength she carried. She was more than a loved one, she was a true example of what it means to live life with purpose and love. Her legacy will forever be carried on in the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her children, William Vernon Patterson (Crystal), Kimberly Patterson Roshto (Kenneth), Joseph Clyde Blount (Blair), Vernon “ Lil Cotton” Patterson (Scarlett), Norland Ray Blount (Nancy), and Stacey Patterson Davis (James); grandchildren, Terry Roshto (Nikki), Joseph Craig Blount (Kimberly), Josh Patterson (Brandi), Dustin “Bird” Blount (Courtney), Kevin Roshto (Lindsey), Elaina Patterson Vogt (Mark), Alex Roshto (Alicia), Brittany Lynn Blount, Julie Riggins (Rhase), Luke Patterson (Kaylee), Brittany Schwierjohn (Dale), Madelyn Speed (Scott), Jonathan Davis (Lauren), Jamielee Causey (Jacob), Mollie Davis, and Ethan Davis (Joy); numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who she loved and doted on. Nieces, JoAnn Harrell (Glen) and Arnette Ardoin (Robert) and nephew, Clayton McMorris (Lea); special friends and caregivers, Cynthia “Kay Kay” Ellis, Vonda Sims, Claudette Sibley, Sandy Taylor and all of her lovely friends of Midway Baptist Church. Her loving and loyal companion, her dog, Pedro, who never left her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon “Cotton” Patterson, her parents, Joe and Edna McMorris, daughter, Tracey Patterson, brothers, Donald “Snooks” McMorris and Arnold McMorris. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 5 pm until 8 pm and on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 9am until funeral service at 11 am, at Midway Baptist Church, 27264 S. Satsuma Rd, Livingston, La. She will be laid to rest in Blount Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Blount, Dustin “Bird” Blount, Josh Patterson, Kevin Roshto, Terry Roshto, and Alex Roshto.
