

Peggy Ann Pitts Karschner, a cherished member of her community and devoted family woman, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026. Born on July 1, 1947, in Clarksville, Florida, she lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and a deep love for those around her.
Peggy’s life was one filled with the joy of family and the simple pleasures that enriched her days. She had an enduring passion for music, finding delight in the sounds of Elvis Presley, Conway Twitty, Garth Brooks, Reba McIntyre, and Prince. Cooking was another treasured pursuit, offering her an avenue for creativity and the nurturing of those she cared for. She was also passionate about books and loved to get lost in a good novel. Known for her vibrant spirit, she especially favored bright colors, with red holding a special place in her heart.
Throughout her life, Peggy remained deeply connected to her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, O.E. Pitts; her mother, Nola Lucille Pitts; her sister, Pansy (Pam) Keopke; and her brother, Ronnie Pitts.
Peggy is survived by her devoted husband, William Robert Karschner, Jr., who shared in her life’s journey and provided steadfast companionship. Her children, Leah Morin and her husband Cy Morin, and Keith Karschner along with his wife Jacqueline Karschner, carry forward her legacy of love and commitment.
Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Kassidy Whiddon and her husband Zachary Whiddon, Kody Karschner, and Emma Karschner. She held close the bonds with her step-grandchildren—Madison Regina with her husband Jesse Regina, Brayden Spell, and Haleigh Burrow with her husband Camron Burrow—each of whom enriched her life in meaningful ways. The great-grandchildren, Paislee Karschner and Lawson Karschner, were sources of joy and pride for Peggy.
Peggy’s family circle further includes her sister Wanda Baker and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom fondly remember her kindness and the joyful presence she brought into their lives.
Her beloved canine companion, Elvis, was a faithful friend throughout her years, offering comfort and companionship.
Peggy Ann Pitts Karschner’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the simple joys that give life its color and meaning. She will be remembered with great affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy endures through the family she so lovingly nurtured and the many hearts she touched.
A memorial service to honor Mrs. Peggy's memory will be held on May 16th at Ourso Funeral home at 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, LA 70737. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a service to follow.
