

A resident of Gonzales, he died on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at age 83. An adventurous businessman, he started his own company, Moran Electric, and was later co-owner of Doyle Electric. He was an avid gardener with a green thumb who loved to grow flowers, especially orchids, and an extremely outgoing person who never met a stranger, always met a friend. He is survived by his wife, Jean Burstall Moran; three sons, Reynolds J. "Jimmy" Moran Jr. and wife Deborah, Larry P. Moran and wife Diane, and Kevin Moran and wife Lynette; three stepdaughters, Arlene Kunkel and husband Charles "Charlie," Ann Donley and husband Kent, and Cindy Gauthier and husband Todd; stepson, Blake Burstall and wife Denise; sister, Janel Melancon and husband Willie; brother, Charles Moran and wife Mary; four grandchildren, Brandi Troxler, Larry Moran Jr., Reynolds J. "Reyn" Moran III, and Garrett Moran; numerous stepgrandchildren; four great grandchildren, Kennedy, Kayne, Morgan, and Isabella; two stepgreat grandchildren; and his feline friend, Pierre. Preceded in death by his parents, Willie Paul and Lillian Gautreau Moran, first wife, Louise Doyle Moran; three sisters, Lorraine Frederick, JoAnn Remers, and Geneva Finger; and a granddaughter, Sydney Moran. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Saturday, Nov. 26, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at noon. Entombment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Mausoleum, Gonzales.
