Robert "Wayne" Avery

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years, Mary Lynn Ferguson Avery; son, Jason Wayne Avery and his wife Cathy; 2 grandsons, Jason “Jase” Wayne Avery II, Kaleb Avery; 1 granddaughter, Kerstin Avery; 1 brother, Glenn Avery (Rosie); 2 sisters, Suzanne Achord (Kent), Betty Norton and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Gregory “Greg” Wade Avery; brother, Larry Joe Avery; Parents, Hollis and Juanita Avery.

He was a 1970 graduate of East Ascension High School and worked in the electrical and instrumentation field and retired from IBEW local 995. He was loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation which will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Ascension Baptist Church from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. followed by a Funeral service at 12:00. The burial will immediately follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
