

A native of Donaldsonville and a resident of St. Amant, Bob passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 in St. Amant at the age of 66. Mr. Babin was a retired Construction Manager with Fluor/Daniel Construction and a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will resume on Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville from 10:00 AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM followed by cremation. The services will be presided over by Rev. Jerry Martin. Mr. Babin is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Mackenzie and Thomas Waguespack, his son and daughter-in-law: Thor and Nikki Babin, 3 sisters and 1 brother-in-law: Trisha and Terry Hogan, Laurette Babin Blanchard and Vickie Gaudet, 2 brothers and sisters-in-law: Michael and Judy Babin and Ricky and Nella Babin, 3 grandchildren: Brockton Waguespack, Ryder Babin and Reese Babin. He is preceded in death by his wife: Hazel Glenn Babin, Parents: Lawrence Joseph Babin and Bobbie Lee Burns Babin and 1 sister: Jean' Marie Babin. Pallbearers will be Thor Babin, Brockton Waguespack, Thomas Waguespack, Ryder Babin, Greg Cambre, Keith Maddie, Joe Zeppuhar and Ronnie Robinson. Robert Babin was a Man among Men. He was strong, tough, selfless and dedicated. He did whatever it took to get the job done and to provide for his family. Robert sacrificed many things so his wife and children could live a better life. He instilled these beliefs with his children also.
