I was born in Mena, Arkansas, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26,1942, to Carl and Hazel Bryant. Four years later, this would also be my sister Donna’s birthday. My earliest memories are of growing up in New Harmony, Indiana. I graduated from high school there in 1960. I was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War and served as a medic. After I was discharged from the Army, I was employed by the U.S. Department of Justice to provide healthcare for federal prisoners. This was the source of many entertaining stories. The Seventh-day Adventist Church encourages a personal relationship with Jesus, higher education, and a healthy lifestyle. As a member of that faith, I benefited greatly from these guidelines. I was able to work full time until the age of 78. My profession was that of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I earned master’s Degrees from Eastern Michigan University and Loma Linda University School of Public Health. I held an adjunct faculty position with Barry University. I estimate that I have read over 2,000 books. This certainly provided me with a broader perspective on the challenges of life. In reflection, by God’s grace I have been able to function at the outer limits of my full potential. Incidentally, I was an award-winning photographer. Also, our family hosted an exchange student from Thailand, Rosy Kriengprarthana. I stopped paying taxes on December 23, 2025. I am survived by my fabulous, very attractive wife, Claire Breaux Bryant, our wonderful daughter, Amanda, and her husband Paul Martin, and their perfect children Nora, Peter and Julia. That is the reason they are called GRAND children. I am also survived by my sisters, Donna Clark (Rick) and Lianne Acton (Tom), and their families.
