Rose Marie McDaniel Villar passed away on May 18, 2024 at the age of 81. She was born in San Francisco, California and has been a longtime resident of St. Amant, Louisiana. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Rhonda Sallis, Ricky and Sherri Villar, Glynn Villar, Donna Edwards, Susan and Gene Hitchcock;12 Grandchildren: Gerred Villar, Brit'ne Canezaro, Savana Sallis, Samantha Clement, Ricky Villar Jr, Tiffany Standley, Paul Villar, Amanda Duck, Derek Edwards, Daniela Diez, Chase Hitchcock and Dane Hitchcock; 16 Great Grandchildren and her sister Wayne Ann McDaniel.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Gerald Paul Villar; Parents Woodrow Wilson McDaniel and Georgia Beryl Humphrey; Daughter Dianna L. Villar; Grand Daughter Lauren E. Villar; Sisters Louis Berry, Virgie Sadler and Brother Donald Cote.
Rose was a devout parishioner at Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Catholic Daughter’s. She was also a member of the Knight of Columbus 6389 Ladies Auxiliary. Rose enjoyed putting puzzles together in her spare time. Most importantly Rose loved her faith and her family. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a night wake for Rose on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737. A visitation will occur Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 LA Highway 429, St. Amant, Louisiana 70774 with a Mass of Christian following at 11:00 AM. Rose will be laid to rest in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum. Those serving as pallbearers are Gerred Villar, Ricky Villar Jr., Derek Edwards, Chase Hitchcook, Dane Hitchcook, Justin Diez and Steve Villar.
