Ross Canning Mohler passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the age of 87. He was a native of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and has been a resident of Gonzales, Louisiana for over 50 years where he served as President of Neese Industries and later became an independent industrial sales rep. He was a 1955 graduate of West View High School and received his BA in 1958 from Tri State College in Indiana. The most loving husband, caring dad and dedicated Papa who will be greatly missed. He has now rejoined his late wife, Corinne (Toby) Mohler, in their eternal heavenly home. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children; Jennifer Armand (Charlie Boyett) and Michael Mohler (Paula) and his grandchildren; Avery Armand, Abby Armand, Landon Mohler and Bailey Mohler. He is also survived by his brother Richard Mohler (Marilyn) and a host of family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Corinne (Toby) and his mother, Marjorie Mohler.
Ross was a proud US Army Veteran. He was a very active member at First United Methodist Church of Gonzales where he enjoyed being a part of their choir. He was also very active in the community; a member of the Rotary Club as well as the Ascension Chamber of Commerce. Although he was born in the north, his heart was in the south. He moved his family down to Louisiana to be surrounded by the beauty of the south, especially being able to visit Grand Isle and the Gulf of Mexico. He truly enjoyed being outside and tending to his yard and just appreciating nature. He enjoyed reading, golfing and watching his Pittsburg Steelers. Ross always had a welcoming smile and a heart of gold. His laughter and love will be sorely missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Ross’ life on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy. Gonzales, LA 70737. The visitation will begin at 10 AM with a service to start at 12 Noon. Ross will be laid to rest with his wife at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales at a later date.
