“Shannon walked in the shadow of God and then was not, for the Lord took him.”
Shannon enjoyed a fulfilling career in the telephone communications work, which he turned into his own private company (Cypress Communications). After selling his company he remained in that line of work for a larger company that serviced the needs of the movie industry. This work required travel- which he loved. He had an extensive collection of magnets from many cities and states he visited. The last few years of his life, Shannon began a second career as a professional poker player. He loved the game and the psychological aspect of “reading” the other players. He travelled to Las Vegas for several tournaments.
Shannon loved to play golf. It was a passion he shared with his grandfather, PaPa Jack. Fishing with his brothers was another passion. It didn’t matter if it took place in a small bayou near home or out in the gulf. It is hard to say if it was the fish he loved catching or the company he shared with his brothers that meant the most but those were some of his happiest times.
Shannon was a loving father to two sons, Sean Paul and Jason Boudreaux. He is survived by his mother, Brenda Gayle Brinegar and father, Harry James Boudreaux, Sr.; brothers, Harry James Boudreaux, Jr. and Dean David Boudreaux; sister, Monique Camille Hebert; step brother, Casey Cubbedge and step sister, Cherie Gardner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Adolf and Anonamae Boudreaux and maternal grandparents, Jack Hood and Ethel Mae Dowling.
The last two years of his life were spent battling cancer. Much credit and appreciation needs to be given to his loving girlfriend, Christine, who was at his side through this whole ordeal. She aided in his comfort, and survival through this devastating time.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Ourso Funeral Home on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the Boudreaux family.
