

Shirley Hoyt Bowman, a native of Livingston and resident of Prairieville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the age of 87. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, who enjoyed spending time and drinking coffee with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Lanell Hill and husband, Wayne, Rhonda Elaine Parker and husband, Benny; grandchildren, James Wayne Hill and fiancé, Theresa Rivere, Tammy Bosch, Dudley Parker and wife, Leigh-Anne; great-grandchildren, Ray Bosch, Jesse and Jase Hill, Alyssa Fritsche, Summer, Heather, and Conner Sweet; sister, Barbara Jean Kropog; brothers, Arthur and Roy Efferson. Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Luther Bowman; parents, John Spencer Hoyt and Annie McCarroll Efferson; twin sister, Cherry Hawkins; sister, Sylvia Hoyt; brother, Andrew Hoyt. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 5:00 pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume again on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Ourso Funeral Home from 9:00 am until Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Oaklane Memorial Park in Prairieville. James Wayne Hill, Dudley Parker, Jeremy Webster, Jacob Webster, Gary Bowman, Dwayne Clark, Billy McCauley, and Ronnie Clark Sr. will serve as pallbearers. Ray Bosch, Jesse and Jase Hill, and Alysa Fritsche will serve as honorary pallbearers.
