2 Chronicles 7:14
Sidney Lee Brogan, Sr., age 90, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at home surrounded by those who loved him deeply.
Sidney was born January 8, 1936, in Palmetto, Louisiana, to Gladys Nezat Brogan and Robert Albert Brogan. His life was shaped by strong family roots, enduring faith, and a steady strength that guided him through every season.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Sidney carried the discipline, honor, and resilience of his service throughout his life. After returning home, he became a respected contractor in Ascension Parish for more than 40 years and was well known for his craftsmanship, reliability, and dedication to his community.
Until suffering a stroke several weeks ago, Sidney remained active and engaged. He continued driving, attending church every Sunday, working around his home, and always being present for his family. His family meant everything to him, and his greatest wish was that each and every one would accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his wife of twelve years, Elizabeth Brogan; his children, Deborah and Todd Kling of Geismar, Louisiana, Sidney Jr. and Debbie Brogan of Prairieville, Louisiana, Betty Ann and Kenneth Milton of Prairieville, Louisiana, Linda Landrum and her fiancé, Kent Gautreaux of Sorrento, Louisiana, and Neal and Michelle Nett of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Sidney was blessed with grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Lynde (Matthew), Rebecca (TJ), Laura (Derek), Brandi (David), Sydni (Chase), Jacob, and Britnee (Jordan).
He also leaves behind a beautiful legacy of great-grandchildren: Breelyn, Hayden, Zach, Cooper, Reese, Shelbi, Lane, Emma, Logan, Jaxon, Scott, Hunter “Tookie,” Ethan, Andy, Chandler, Sawyer, Helen Rose, Brylee Ruth, and Alex.
He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Brogan, Sr., Sonny Brogan, and Bill Brogan; his sister, Joyce Hebert; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helen Ruth Brogan; his parents, Gladys and Robert Brogan; his brothers, Joel “Tookie” Brogan and Robert “Bobby” Brogan; and his sister, Jean Stephens.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Milton, Todd Kling, Chase Hitchcock, Scott Brogan, Lane Lambert, and Hunter “Tookie” Lambert.

The family extends a special thank you to Allison Kennedy of Bridgeway Hospice for her dedication, loving guidance, and compassionate care during this difficult time.
