Vera Argrave Braud, born on January 10, 1935, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the age of 87. Vera was born in St. Gabriel, LA to Melvin Paul Argrave, Sr. and Leola Kling Argrave. There she met and married her greatest love, Harold Braud on May 18, 1957. Together they settled in Hope Villa, LA and created a home with doors always open. Vera was a homemaker, seamstress of the most beautiful draperies and home interiors in homes across the state. Her greatest ability was to love and care for her family. She always had enough time and love to spare for all who needed her. She had a gift of knowing when someone needed extra love and attention and was so generous with her unending supply of love. She was active in her church parish- St. John the Evangelist, serving on many committees. She loved her God and his mother Mary.
She is survived by her Husband of 65 years- Harold John Braud; two daughters, Nezida Braud Jarreau and Lauren Braud Richard (Jerry); brother, Carl Andre Argrave (Sandra); grandchildren, Jerry Jarreau, Jr. (Rachel), Josh Jarreau (Amy), Madeline Richard Goodrich (Michael), Celine Richard, Ashton Richard, Lillian Richard; great-grandchildren, Juniper Jarreau and Luke Jarreau. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and so many godchildren, we lost count.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Paul Argrave, Sr. and Leola Kling Argrave; siblings, Marlene Argrave Zuccaro and Melvin Paul Argrave, Jr.; and an infant son.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will be held prior to mass from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery in Prairieville, LA.
