

Victor Joseph "Joe" Bourgeois, 81, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Denham Springs. He was a native and resident of St. Amant and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Visitation at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, on Saturday, May 1, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Jon Koehler, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Hoover Bourgeois; daughter and son-in-law, Lynnette and Darrel Broussard; sons, Ivan Bourgeois and significant other, Marie Jones, Mike Bourgeois, and Trent and wife Robyn Bourgeois; grandchildren, Terrell, Clinton, Kristi and Ryan Broussard, Marlee and Grant Bourgeois; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosalee Sheets and Winnie Mae Laird; and brothers, Leon, Lionel, Emmanuel and Samuel Bourgeois. Preceded in death by his son, Timothy Bourgeois; parents, Constant and Eve LeBlanc Bourgeois; and brother, Phillip Bourgeois. Pallbearers will be Terrell, Clinton, Ryan and Tyler Broussard and Kibler and Torey Sibley. Honorary pallbearer is Grant Bourgeois.
